We have begun the process of texturing the walls – affectionately know as “mudding”. It’s a dirty job but has an enormous impact on the final product of the climbing walls. The team spent a lot of time coming up with mock samples of different styles of textures. Movement will be using a combination of those textures that will be applied to specific walls in the gym. Here is a video to show you the “mudding” process.
“We believe there is nothing more important than making the world a better place for our children. We chose our name as a message to the world that the American entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to innovation and quality is still alive and well.” – Lighthouse Solar
Movement Climbing + Fitness and Lighthouse Solar are working together to build one of the most environmentally friendly fitness centers in the country. Lighthouse is currently installing a 100-kilowatt photovoltaic (solar panel) system on the roof of the building. This system, when fully operational, will provide Movement with all of its energy needs. Heating, cooling and hot water will all come from clean and green everyday Colorado sun instead of a coal plant. We are proud to be working with such a great local company. Here are some images of the current progress and what the system will look like once complete. Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone!
A lot has happened the past 2 weeks. The walls are panelled, stairs have been installed, dry wall is going up and the glass for the front of the building is now in place. Construction on the last major visual piece of the gym, the stadium seating, has begun and Tim Harrington himself has decided to build it. He is amped and I am sure he will be more than willing to explain how he built it once its finished. Here is a video to give a visual update on the progress.
