September Highlights

September is full of additions and changes as we prep for the approaching fall season!  An advanced yoga class, a fresh approach to fitness complimented by motivated new instructors, and a program for people looking for climbing partners, are all on the horizon as we get geared up for the cooler months.

NEW YOGA CLASS! Advanced Yoga
Mondays, 4:00p-5:30p taught by Michelle Anderson

This class is for students with an existing intermediate or advanced yoga practice who wish to challenge themselves physically, learn sanskrit chants, and further their exploration of breathing and meditation.  Each class will include themed postures of all types, a detailed pranayama, chanting, or meditation practice, and savasana.

THE ROPE UP
Looking for new climbing partners? Excited to learn from fellow climbers? Join us for The Rope Up! There is no charge and it’s a great way to expand your climbing experience!
Starting in October, we are offering a facilitated group 3 times a week for climbers who range from beginning to intermediate and are excited to meet up with new people. Stay tuned for more details…

Tickets are on sale now at the front desk and will go quickly so get yours soon!  They are $5 for members of Movement, American Alpine Club, and the Access Fund.  All proceeds benefit the Access Funs and AAC.

**Finally, remember we are closed on Monday, September 6th for Labor Day.**

New Instructors at Movement!

Movement Climbing + Fitness has a few changes for our class schedule in August!

We are happy to have Mary-Laurence Bevington as our new Yoga Director.  We are very proud to have such a long-time member of the Boulder yoga community directing our yoga program.  Mary-Laurence earned a Master in Fine Arts Theatre at Naropa University and holds certificates in Body Knowledge (yoga, Pilates, and laying on of hands with Lara Kolesar), and massage therapy (Institute of Psycho Structural Balancing). She also has been involved with Movement since we opened the doors. We welcome her years of experience and practice and hope that you will enjoy her influence!

In addition, there will be a few changes with instructors of current classes.

If you enjoy Heath Croll’s Wednesday night Core Essentials class, he will also be taking over Sports Conditioning (Tuesdays 6:45p to 7:30p), and Blast Cardio (Fridays 11:00a to 11:30a) and Blast Abs (Fridays 11:45a to 11:50a).

Also, Brent Miller, who teaches the popular Saturday Vinyasa class, will be taking over the Vinyasa Yoga on Thursday evening (6:15p to 7:30p).

Lastly, we are excited to add Gary Gianetti as a new fitness and cycling instructor.  He teaches high energy cycling classes that are sure to get you going in the morning (Thursdays 6:30a – 7:15a).  He also has years of experience with functional fitness and he is excited to bring a new and fresh dynamic to the fitness department!

Keep an eye out for more advanced yoga, group cycling, and gritty fitness classes in the coming months!

R.A.M.P. Demo Day

On Saturday, Aug 7th, from 9:30a-11:00a, our instructors will be giving a FREE DEMONSTRATION of what R.A.M.P. is all about! Come have your youngster participate in a class with other young athletes and get them started on their path to a healthy lifestyle!

R.A.M.P. (Reaching Athlete’s Maximum Potential) is a multi-faceted program that will equip young athletes (ages 6-18) with the best possible techniques, skills, and movements to propel their sporting activities to the next level. The program also covers tips to prevent injury as well as on basic nutrition–all delivered in a fun and approachable format!
